LIDOPROCT

Each g of this ointment contains zinc oxide 180 mg, lidocaine 50 mg, aluminium subacetate 35 mg and hydrocortisone acetate 2.5 mg. These active ingredients act as analgesic (against pain), anti-inflammatory (against inflammation) and antiseptic (destroying microorganisms). This medicine is used for the reduction of symptoms such as itching in the area of anus or female private parts (genitals); for the reduction of symptoms caused by hemorrhoids and other problems that may occur in the area of the anus, such as pain and inflammation.

Is Lidoproct suitable for me?

Lidoproct is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

• if you have an allergy (hypersensitivity) to lidocaine, hydrocortisone acetate, aluminium subacetate, zinc oxide, or other ingredient of this medicine
• if you have an infection that does not heal at the site of application
• if you are taking medicines called amiodarone or sotalol

In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:

• are pregnant or breastfeeding
• have porphyria (blood disorder)

Lidoproct interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Lidoproct?

This medicine is available in form of rectal ointment.

You should take Lidoproct exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

• Ointment should be applied several times a day.
• The maximum dose is 6 g per day.  

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not apply two doses together if you miss a dose.

What are Lidoproct side effects?

Like all medicines Lidoproct can cause side effects at the application site, including:        

• allergic reactions
• redness
• burning
• pain in the anus
• bleeding from the anus
• itching
• swelling
