This medicine contains the active ingredient fexofenadine, which belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. These medicines reduce the effects of histamine (a chemical produced in our body after the contact with pollen or other substances) by disabling histamine receptors to bind with histamine. If this binding is not disabled, we have symptoms such as itching, sneezing, wet eyes, runny nose. Fexofenadine is used to treat and prevent symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, which cause runny nose, sneezing, itching or blocked nose and itchy, red and watery eyes.

Is Fexofenadine suitable for me?

Fexofenadine is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

• if you are allergic to fexofenadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:

• are pregnant or breastfeeding 
• have problems with your liver or kidneys
• have or ever had heart disease, since this kind of medicine may lead to a fast or irregular heart beat
• are elderly

How should I take Fexofenadine?

This medicine is available in form of film-coated tablets.

You should use fexofenadine exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

• The usual dose is one tablet (120 mg) daily, taken with water before a meal.

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed.

What are Fexofenadine side effects?

Like all medicines fexofenadine can cause side effects, including:

• headache
• drowsiness
• feeling sick (nausea)
• dizziness
• tiredness
• sleepiness
